Gary !! I am headed out to Breckenridge THIS morning - what a shame that I will miss eyeballing you by only a few hours! Should have timed it better - bummer! Strangely, Lise says that this was to be your original day there - you fast boy, you! Sending you much love and lovely days ahead. Hope you do not have to go through Nebraska??!! Endless.......but flat, pedal fast!! Sooz
Hi Bud! Breckenridge looks divine! An oasis for a day or so. Glad you're doing well and bike is back in order. Loved the updates. That storm picture confirms my thoughts to you about riding early to miss that crazy afternoon weather. Take care. Love, Me
Your website is better than watching the tour de france (which started sat) b/c I have the utmost faith and confidence that your are a 'clean' rider! Stick to a couple of beers, lay of the HGH and EPO now that the rockies are behind you and ride 'with' the wind if possible... just don't pedal in the wrong direction. Keep up the positive attitude and vibes.
The boys from New Orleans are in Illionis, just thought you should know! We are 2800 miles in and modified our route a little. We should be in Yorktown on the 20th! Hope all is well!
Great pictures. When you're in those seemingly endless flat plains, it's okay to talk and mumble so long as you don't start carrying on any two-way conversations with yourself.
You're doing great and you're definitely looking fit and trim.
Happy 4th Mr. Hinkman! Breck is a great town! So glad you are there! No mention of the climbs into the front range...you are getting hard on us! Keep it up! CG

Welcome to my blog site.
Hopefully from this site, you can track my cross-country bicycle adventure this summer.
The journey will begin on the coast of Oregon, near Astoria, in the town of Warrenton, Oregon. The adventure will end on the Atlantic Coast, via Warrenton, Virginia.
The launch date is set for June 1, 2008. The total mileage is 4000+ miles and should take me about ten weeks. I plan to average 70 miles per day, perhaps more on the plains of Kansas and definitely fewer over 11,000 foot Hoosier Pass. I hope to pedal east on Route 211, into Warrenton, around August 9, 2008.

Good pix, Gary! Think sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen . . . .
The weather in Portland has been beautiful, ever since you left.
