Day of Rest

I doubled up on distance during the break in the weather, covering 95, 87 and 69 miles in consecutive days. I caught up with the guys from Tulane University that I met back on day four 0n my way to Eugene. Pictured with me are (from the left) Jake, Andy, Chris and Luke. We all rested at the Super 8 in Baker City, Oregon. I spent an extra day for recovery and to wait out the snow! After all,it is only the 10th of June!
The Tulane Trio took off this morning regardless.
Luke is still here at the Super 8.

Gary, Way to go! Keep it up, while sitting here in 90+ daily, I'm jealous. You are writing a book! Bill Bryson's "A walk in the woods" will have nothing over Gary Hicklins, "Warrenton to Warrenton". As a result, I'm going to do a cross Florida ride, ok not the daunting task you have ahead, but my own start. I look forward to your updates when you can. Best of luck, warm weather and dry roads!

Hi, Gary,

Pat and I have been following your trek right from the start, ever since George told us about it. We're very happy for you, and very impressed.

Good luck!

Hey Gary...we technology wizards in Snellville just figured-out what a blog is! We have been thinking about you and keeping you in our prayers. It looks like a fantastic trip! I wish I was with you, but I don't think my hemmoroids could take the punishment. We will keep up with Hicklin's Big Adventure! Godspeed!

Can't believe I've been working in computers for 30 years and can't get a post on a blog. Hopefully this one will work.

Looks like you're doing great. Hang in there and take care.

Be safe!

I think I'd rather have the snow????just not the slippery roads.Your mention of the snake river reminded me that my kids and I rafted down the Snake River somewehre in Idaho. You might want to take a side trip ;-) safe journey!(You've become a blog master!)Teddi M.

The NY Vogt's just caught back up on your travels. Sounds like a blast. Did you ever stop after the brakes failed?

Keep the shiny side up.

Gary -
I second Margy's emotion! Who knew how many people were doing this trip? Glad to head the updates - I'm thinking Lise is out with you as of this weekend. Can't wait to hear how y'all do riding. By the way, don't get too big of a head that you're accomplishing such a big feat. Toly made the t-ball all star team.

Love,
Amy & Glenn
