After five days of riding in the rain and snow, I thanked the Lord for Lise, Motel 6's and Desitin ointment, in that order! This is my room, attempting to dry everything I brought.
Dear Gary, Hopefully the rain will stop so you can have a better time bycicling! What a nice cozy room to stay after under rain...HIHI I´m glad that you had time to meet your friends! They do have really pretty dogs. I also want to thank the birthday present I got today!!! The pictures of you and Lise and the tree, the t-shirt and the cds! Evreything was perfect and i´m so happy!! The party was so nice and most of my family and friends were there !! But I missed you and Lise! Hope it will come more surprises in your way home!!! Love you very much Fla
Wow Gary, almost 593 miles! GEEZ!! Lise stopped by yesterday to call Flavia since verizon wouldn't take it, so I'd also like to say "HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY FLAVIA!!!!!!" much love to you and Flav, Margy
Gary, My nephew, Chris Giglio, father or one of your students (Jack) alerted me to your blog. Great reading and photos. Warrenton to Warrenton is a nice aspect, too. It looks like the stretch through northeast Oregon was wet and cold. I'll be doing a trip there with Cycle Oregon in early September; I hope the weather is better then! Have a safe trip. Welcome to my blog site.
Hopefully from this site, you can track my cross-country bicycle adventure this summer.
The journey will begin on the coast of Oregon, near Astoria, in the town of Warrenton, Oregon. The adventure will end on the Atlantic Coast, via Warrenton, Virginia.
The launch date is set for June 1, 2008. The total mileage is 4000+ miles and should take me about ten weeks. I plan to average 70 miles per day, perhaps more on the plains of Kansas and definitely fewer over 11,000 foot Hoosier Pass. I hope to pedal east on Route 211, into Warrenton, around August 9, 2008.
